Our Story
Harmony Housing for Heroes was founded on a simple belief: the men and women who served our country deserve a safe place to call home.
Our Mission
Harmony Housing for Heroes exists to provide safe, stable, and dignified housing directly to veterans in need. We believe that housing is not a privilege — it is a foundation. Without it, recovery, employment, family, and health are all out of reach.
We work directly with veterans to assess their needs, identify the right housing solution, and support them through placement and beyond. Every veteran we serve receives personalized attention, not a referral to a waiting list.
What We Stand For
Dignity First
Every veteran deserves to be treated with respect and compassion, regardless of their circumstances. We lead with dignity in every interaction.
Direct Action
We don't refer veterans elsewhere and hope for the best. We take direct responsibility for finding and securing housing solutions.
Accountability
We hold ourselves to the highest standard of transparency — with the veterans we serve, the community that supports us, and the donors who make our work possible.
Long-Term Commitment
Stable housing is just the beginning. We stay engaged with veterans after placement to ensure lasting stability and wellbeing.
How We Got Here
Harmony Housing for Heroes was founded by Amber and Willie McCoy — two people who saw a gap between the support veterans were promised and the reality so many faced, and decided to do something about it.
Amber brings six years of experience in healthcare and nursing, and a deep commitment to compassionate, person-centered care. That same spirit — meeting people where they are, listening before acting, and treating every individual with dignity — is woven into everything we do at Harmony Housing for Heroes.
Together, Amber and Willie built this organization from the ground up, driven not by obligation but by genuine care for the people who served. Their belief is simple: you don't have to have worn a uniform to honor those who did.
